Do You Have a Bent Penis? HGH Can Help With Peyronie’s Disease

It happened – one day your erection went from being straight to having a 90 degree bend. If you freaked out finding yourself with a bent penis, you aren’t alone. This happens to men on a regular basis and it can be very worrisome. A quick search on Google for bent penis and what you will find is Peyronie’s disease.

The experts aren’t completely sure of just how common this condition is, largely because not all men will seek medical help for a bent penis – some are just too embarrassed, which is too bad because there are treatments available. It is estimated that more than 25 million men in America have bent penises.

Peyronies

Peyronie’s disease is a condition that affects men over the age of 40. Until recently Peyronie’s disease was not openly discussed and that made it hard for men to find information, get facts, and learn about treatment options.

According to the US National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health, Peyronie’s Disease affects between 1 – 4 percent; however, autopsy studies say that 22% of men have some penile lesions that indicate the men were not treated for Peyronie’s Disease while they were alive, likely because of the stigma that is still associated with this condition.

In a survey conducted on 4,432 men, with an average age of 57:

  • 2% had only plaque
  • 1% had plaque, pain and angulation.

Symptoms included:

  • 84% with angulation
  • 46% painful erection
  • 40% with erectile dysfunction

Francois de la Peyronie

It was the French surgeon Francois de la Peyronie that first described this condition back in 1743. Now 300 years later, there is still no known cause. The main theory is that it happens as a result of the penis being injured during sexual activity. This could be the result of using a penis pump, excessive masturbation or sexual trauma from a sexual adventure.

Other theories believe that Peyronie’s disease is the result of a hereditary disorder or auto immune condition. Some doctors believe that certain medications can cause it, especially heart medications, beta blockers and blood pressure medications.

You’ll generally see a urologist that specializes in Peyronie’s. The urologist will look for the plaque, which is often found in the erectile tissue on the upper side of your penis, which will cause it to bend during erection.

Medical Options for Treating Peyronie’s Disease

The urologist will give you options for treating Peyronie’s disease. Verapamil is a medicine that is injected directly into the area where the plaque is. Verapamil injections are very painful, so a local anesthetic is injected into your penis first. You will generally need a number of shots. The theory is that the Verapamil will cause the plaque to break down. But the results have been poor.

Xiaflex now has FDA approval and its now a new option for urologists. This is the first treatment approved in-office treatment that will be administered non–surgically. It has been shown to be safe and effective for this devastating disorder.

Xiaflex requires two injections into the area where the scar tissue has built up on the penis. Then the area around the scar tissue is massaged so it is broken up. Doctors can give up to 4 treatment cycles.

Surgery is another option. It is referred to as corporal plication. With the surgery your surgeon will place 2 permanent sutures in the penis’ lining opposite to the curvature so that it will straighten out. This is the most common procedure and it has the highest success rate. However, it does cause the penis to be shortened so for some men this is a concern.

Corporoplasty is another option. During this corporoplasy procedure the doctor will make an incision in the thickest part of the plaque across the penis width. This will cut the plaque in two and it lets the curvature to fall away on both sides. The doctor will then patch the incision with a skin graft. Generally, the first attempt is successful. However, you should be aware that there is risk of erectile dysfunction should the nerves or tissue be damaged.

Your regular physician can take care of the routine stuff relating to your penis, but you will need a urologist for your bent penis issues. To find the best specialist, you can use these two steps.

#1 Find a Board Certified Urologist in Your Region

You want the urologist that you are going to have treat you, be certified by the American Board of Urology or ABU. This is not required for a urologist to practice; however, it does tell you that the urologist has undergone additional rigorous testing to demonstrate that he/she has exceptional expertise as well as a peer evaluation. You can search for a board certified urologist by your zip code.

#2 Do a Background Check

Make sure you take the time to do a background check on the urologist you are thinking of using. Docboard.org offers you access to licensing information about the doctor along with any disciplinary actions.

Another Option – HGH

HGH for treating Peyronie’s disease has not been researched nor proven, although some men say that is has helped. You might consider an arginine containing HGH supplement as a prophylactic. HGH has many benefits for men. HGH injections such as Genotropin, Norditropin and Saizen must be prescribed by a doctor, whereas HGH supplements are available over the counter.

As we get older, often we lose stamina or libido and the ability to heal faster that can make us more likely to suffer a sexual injury. Taking an HGH supplement is an excellent way to get some of that libido and stamina back and with it come tons of other anti aging benefits such as the ability to heal faster and better which in the case of Peyronie's is very important. It’s definitely worth thinking about.

Sex is supposed to be fun and so don’t be afraid to experiment, but you also do not want to get hurt and you don’t want your penis to get injured, so take care of your penis. That can start with you taking an HGH supplement such as Genf20 Plus or Genfx.
