HGH The Science of it All

We hear a lot about human growth hormone or HGH. However, a lot of what we hear is not based on science, so we have a complete misunderstanding of what HGH really is and how it works. A number of people believe that HGH is simply something we inject into the body. While HGH injections are available, HGH is actually a natural hormone that is produced by your body in the pituitary gland.

In children, HGH is responsible for normal growth as well as treating a number of conditions such chronic kidney deficiency, Turner's syndrome, or Prader Willi syndrome. In adults HGH keeps body fat lower, helps build strong bones, keeps organs healthy, and develops lean muscle mass.

However, by the time, we reach 30 the amount of HGH our body is producing has dropped significantly, and it will continue to drop. As a result, we not only begin to feel the signs of aging (fatigue, memory loss, and low sex drive), we also see the signs of aging (weight gain, wrinkles, high blood pressure, reduced lean muscle). That's why when HGH levels are replenished and returned back to levels we enjoyed when we were younger; the signs of aging also disappear.

The History of HGH

HGH injections didn't appear until the 1950's and even then the only source for HGH was from cadavers. HGH was extracted from cadavers, then it was purified before it was used as an HGH injection on humans. Most of those receiving the injections were children that had an HGH deficiency. Because doctors had to rely on cadavers a great many children did not get the HGH injections they needed. In fact, from 1963 to 1985 less only 27,000 children around the world (perhaps even less), ever received an HGH injection. There was another problem that was noted over time – those that had HGH injections from cadavers were at a higher risk of developing Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease, which is a fatal condition that is similar to mad cow disease.

By 1981, Kabi & Genetech had made a breakthrough in developing synthetic HGH using recombinant DNA. There were a number of sources used to obtain the needed DNA sequences. Then a restriction enzyme was removed from molecules, and then it was joined. An outside DNA source was also obtained which was then used as the hose so that the DNA could be replicated. The scientific process is a bit hard to understand but that's okay, because the key message is that a synthetic HGH became available, and cadavers where no longer needed. In addition, there hasn't been a single case of Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease reported since the use of synthetic HGH began.

What's in an HGH Injection?

Genentech created the first synthetic HGH in 1985. There are normally 191 amino acids in HGH but there Protropin formula had 192 amino acids. The additional amino acid was methionine, which is a combination of methyls and sulfur. This amino acid is linked to protein building and metabolism regulating. Other HGH injections that came onto the market contained the 191 amino acids. By 2004, Protropin was actually taken off the market because that additional gene was associated with a higher risk of serious side effects.

Even today, the majority of synthetic HGH injections on the market are made from somatropin and have 191 amino acids. They also contain ingredients such as:
  • Mannitol
  • Sodium chloride
  • Phenol
  • Benzyle alcohol
  • Sodium dihydrogen phosphate anhydrous
  • Fisodium hydrogen phosphate heptahydrate
  • Bacteriostatic Water
  • Disodium phosphate anhydrous
  • Sucrose, phosphoric acid.
The HGH injections that you buy today still have a number of serious side effects. HGH injections must be prescribed by a doctor.

How the Human Growth Hormone Works in Your Body

HGH is produced by your pituitary gland and it interacts with your tissue receptors throughout your body including your organs. In the liver is stimulates the production of IGF-1, an insulin that is then released into the body. This helps to stimulate the body into the production of cartilage cells used in the development of bones and muscle.

The HGH produced by the body has 191 amino acids, and is responsible for so many things.
  • Improved bone density
  • Developing of lean muscle mass
  • Reduction of body fat, especially in the mid section
  • Regulating metabolism
  • Reproducing cells
  • Maintaining organs and muscles

You can see why HGH is so important to your overall health and the role it plays in numerous body processes. In fact, it is necessary for you to maintain HGH levels in order for the body to properly function. However, by the time you are 30 the amount of HGH the body is producing has dropped significantly, and it keeps declining as you age. This leads to all the signs of aging that you are fighting. Human Growth Hormone Studies

There has been a number of human growth hormone studies conducted in the past and still today. One of the most well known is the study by Dr. Daniel Rudman that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine back in 1991. It showed a great deal of promise.

I Dr. Daniel Rudman and his colleagues at The University of Wisconsin conducted a study with the treatment of 12 men aged 61 to 80 with intramuscular growth hormone. After 6 months, these 12 men had lost 14% of their body fat and gained an average of 8.8% muscle mass. Their bone density increased and their skin became thicker and firmer. Wrinkles disappeared and sexual performance was improved in several. Dr. Rudman concluded that, "The overall deterioration of the body that comes with growing old is not inevitable. These injections appear able to reverse 10 years of aging with one year of treatment."

What is that effect? If the intensity of the anaerobic workout is high enough, it causes the body to release human growth hormone. This exceptionally potent hormone has a number of important jobs in the body, one of which is to repair the micro damage done to muscle tissue during anaerobic exercise. It takes a lot of energy to do the repair job, and that energy comes from your stored body fat.

  • Human GH replacement therapy was anecdotally successful with some authors claiming it provided the beneficial effects of anabolic steroids without the harmful side effects. Typically, Kerr said, his patients took HGH for only three to six weeks. In that short time, bodybuilders claimed they got results that lasted up to 12 months. Some athletes claimed to have gained up to 40 pounds in six weeks while reducing their body fat.

  • Researchers wondered how supplemental HGH might affect healthy adults. Some work on this question had already been done by exercise physiologist Douglas Crist and his colleagues at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque in 1987. Crist and his associates worked with eight healthy, athletic young people, five men and three women, all between the ages of 22 and 33. After six weeks of getting HGH injections three times a week, these young adults—already in good shape—had nevertheless gained an average of close to three pounds of muscle while losing an average 1.5 percent of their body fat. Their overall ratio of muscle to fat—a key sign of being well conditioned—improved by an average of close to 25 percent.

  • According to reports in scientific literature, benefits from HGH replacement therapy include a reversal of declining pulmonary function, decreased body fat, and increased capacity to exercise, increased bone mass in people with osteoporosis, and the improvement or reversal of many other age-related symptoms and disorders.

How to Maintain HGH Levels

There are two ways of maintaining your HGH Levels.
  1. HGH injections
  2. HGH supplements

It is important that you understand the difference between these two options.

HGH Injections

HGH injections are FDA approved for a small number of serious conditions. However, it isn't approved for anti aging treatment. Generally, you will only need HGH injections if you have a related medical condition that is associated with a severe depletion of HGH. These injections have serious side effects and need to be obtained through a prescription from your doctor.

HGH Supplements

HGH supplements like Genf20 Plus offer a safer alternative for most people. The HGH supplements are not HGH. They are a scientific blend of natural ingredients that work to give your body the boost it needs so that it can produce more HGH. It is far cheaper and much safer than HGH injections. There are a several HGH supplement manufacturers that offer a reputable product.

HGH supplements offer many benefits to including an increase in lean muscle mass with a decrease in body fat, resistance to injury along with a faster recovery time, improved libido, increased energy, better mood, less fatigue, decrease in wrinkles, and a reversal of many signs associated with aging.

HGH supplements offer a way to help slow or even stop the aging process, and reverse the signs of aging. Buy from a reputable company that offers a product that is based on science and avoid those companies that try to sell using false claims and hype.
